The Church of the Rose and Cross primarily references the New Testament, believing it to be the purest and most powerful statement of
God’s word while also holding that there are many pearls of wisdom to be found in the Old Testament,
non-canonical scriptures and Gnostic texts.
The Church considers that the Scriptures contain much that is truly the product of divine inspiration, but that with things
literally true are mingled other things to be allegorically and spiritually understood. It would further suggest that there are evidences of the
highest inspiration in other Scriptures of the world. Indeed, the knowledge of Eastern religions and psychology,
which has become increasingly available during recent years, has thrown a great flood of light on the
interpretation of Christian doctrine.
